Clap-o-done

I have finished the Clapotis! I made major progress on it last night while watching Boogie Nights and finished it this morning.

I gave in yesterday and bought the One Skein Wonder Pattern. They are everywhere so why not join the bandwagon? I have made 2 Mini-Sweaters and find Stefanie's patterns easy to follow.I have 2 skeins of Denim Silk that I bought on sale and didn't know what to do with. Perfect for a OSW. I gauged it out this morning and should start it tonight.
Sitcom Chic may be delayed but I sure it will be the perfect project for the plane ride to Vegas in a couple of weeks.

Happy Anniversary

Tuesday was our 2 year anniversary! It was a great day, topped with a great gift - Denise needles! I have been wanting these for a while and my husband did a fine job finding them. Thanks Honey!

Clap is making progress. Almost finished. I am even more eager to get it finished now so I can start on something with the Denises.

It is amazing how something can not look interesting to make and then you see other people's take on it and it becomes intriging. Case in point- the Poster Boy Bag from SnB Nation. I always skipped over pattern until I saw this. Now I want to make one maybe with a pic on Ann-Margret on it. SIGH Looks like it is being added to the To-Do List.

Where did the weekend go?

Another weekend has flown by. We (more like my husband) got a lot of house work done esp. to the front yard. New plants and new bark. Note to kids next door: We have planted these new plants to keep you from riding your bikes through our yard, please give them a chance to grow before you run them over.

New promotion at work!!! I am really excited about it but nervous too as it will be the most responsibility I have had at a job.

My husband and I realized that since getting the Dish, we have watched more terrible movies in the past 2 years than our whole lives. Freddy vs. Jason, Leprechaun 6-Back to Da Hood, My Sister is Werewolf, Wild Things 2 & Wild Things 3. The even sadder thing is we have seen all of these more than once. At least, I get some knitting time in.

Knitting: Still working away at Clapotis. I want to start Sitcom Chic but 1) I need to buy the needles and 2) if I start it now, Clappy will get shoved to the side and become an UFO. Since it is for a birthday gift, it needs to get done. I am about 2 straight repeats way from starting the decrease sections. I think it should get done by this weekend.

Wed. Morning at Tuesday Morning

So yesterday I finally gave in and went to Tuesday morning to get some Cotton-Ease. I was there on Friday and decided not to get any. Well of couse I was regretting it all weekend and got a chanace to go again yesterday. I got 6 skeins of turquoise blue and 6 of the pistachio color. I see a Sitcom Chic in my future and maybe a Shapely Tank. No more yarn for me until I get seom projects done. (I think I have said that before)

Random Act of Kindness

I went to Starbucks today and found my new favorite drink. As a non-dairy, non-coffee person, I am pretty limited. My usual is a iced chai soy latte but today I got a Shaken Iced Tea Lemonade with Passion tea and I think I found my new addiction. If you like tea, give it a try.

I started my second Clapotis Sunday night and am moving right along. I am one the last repeat of the increase section and will post some pics when I get to the fun part (dropping stitches).

Getting braces tomorrow, for the second time. Looks like 6 months of applesauce and corn sliced off the cob for me.

That's Mermaid not Monkey!

Nearly finished with the Cocktail Mermaid (Monkey) Bag from Knitty. Just a few more mermaids to sew on. Perfect for the upcoming Vegas trip!

Here are a couple of pictures.

I am tempted to knit another one but the Hemp was kind of difficult to work with. I have other projects right now. I don't need to start one more.

PS- Thanks to Penelope from the Knitty Boards for the great RAK! I will get a picture up soon.

Not much knitting...

I ready to get to some knitting tonight after a pretty busy weekend. Friday went went out to Sushi and them for some drinks. We haven't done that for a while and it was nice. Saturday morning was spent doing laundry, grocery shopping, the typical stuff and Sat afternoon we went to the M's game. Being the geeks that we are, we always get to the game 2 hours early so that 1) we get free parking and 2) we can try to catch some batting practice balls. Going to the game made me excited for the Stitch n' Pitch coming up in July! Sunday morning we went to the 5 Spot for brunch and then headed to the Summer Brewfest at St. Edwards Park. This is the 5th year I have gone and drank the most beer I ever have. (ok- 5 tastes. I am a light weight and was driving home) Then we were off to my step-son's baseball banquet and after that the in-laws. PHEW! Busy weekend. I did manage to start my second Clapotis late last night. This one is in KnitPicks Sock Garden Pansy. Pics to come...

Finally some pics!

Here are the 2 projects I am working on now.
First, the nearly done Cocktail Monkey bag from Knitty. I found a package of 125 various cocktail glass charms at the local party and now need to choose which ones the find a home on the bag. I chose a pink trim and some flowered fabric for the lining. I will post finished pics later.

Second is the start of what will be many fish. These are so quick and easy. The yarns are left over from other projects. The orange/green yarn was a Kool-aid dying project and since I got more natural colored yarn today from KnitPicks. There will be more Kool-Aid dying in my future.

One down. another started

I finally finished knitting the Monkey bag from Knitty. The hemp was a little hard to work with and I am happy to get back to knitting with soft yarn. The body of the bag is currently blocking and this weekend I will find some trim and lining fabric to get it ready from my Vegas trip.

With that project done, I started using up some of my leftovers for a Fish Blanket. I saw this finished online and love it. What a great way to get rid of my stash!

New Blog!

I have decided to separate my blogs. One for fun stuff, one for business. I plan to post what I am working one outside of my business.

I have 2 projects on the needles now. A Purl Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and the monkey bag from Knitty. I haven't decided what to add for decoration. I don't know if I want to go with monkeys or some other do-dad. I see a trip to Archie Mcphee in my future. Pictures to come!
